Words of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 26 Nov 2008

Maximize your time on earth. Jesus did and He only lived for 33yrs.

The Samson syndrome. In my opinion, Samson was one of the most, highly talented and gifted individuals in this world that took God for granted. Imagine what Samson’s life would have been if he fully obeyed God in the beginning. In many ways Samson totally neglected and wasted his gifts that were given to him for a purpose, a purpose worth fulfilling. This is what I mean by the Samson syndrome. A person who is gifted and talented given by God, but has taken all that God has given for granted.

I hope that we can recognize that maximizing our time on earth is vital. We can choose to waste it, or choose to be effective for God. Our relationship with God is the most important thing in life.

Judges 16:30 Let me die with the Philistines! Then he pushed with all his might, and down came the temple on the rulers and all the people in it. Thus he killed many more when he died than while he lived.

I hope that you will find the time to read through the life of Samson from Judges 13-16. God will reveal to you and pinpoint clearly points in Samson’s life that He took God for granted, and took his purpose in life for granted.

Are we using the gifts God has given to us for our own gain? Samson used his strength to attract attention in my opinion. He toyed with women because of His gifts. God has given each and everyone of us gifts that are meant to be used for the Kingdom of God and not for our own gain, fame, and glory.

Are we being made fun of because of our gifts, and relationship with God? Insecurity and following the norm makes us easy prey for the enemy. The norm will make fun of you because you don’t date. The norm will make fun of you because you love God. The norm will try to make you feel insecure. The norm will always stay the norm. In my opinion the norm are everywhere even in church. Are we going to follow the norm or follow God? If I had followed the norm, I probably would have never written the Words of Encouragement for Every New Day.
