Words of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 21 Nov 2008

Words of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 21 Nov 2008

Through you they shall know that I am the Lord.

The prodigal son (Luke 15:11-31).

The amazing thing about the story of the prodigal son is that God uses this story to convict two groups of people. The younger who was wild, lost, and squandered everything. The older, good, obedient, and faithful.

Today’s words of encouragement are for us to distinguish which category you fit in. All of us at one point were lost and we could walk the right path and still fall. Great men, influential men have fallen in recent times, but God is still going to use them. Or are you the older son who is faithful, honest, and obedient? KNOW AND RECOGNIZE THAT GOD IS STILL GOING TO USE YOU.

Luke 15:28 The older brother became angry and refused to go in. So his father went out and pleaded with him. But he answered his father, look! All these years I’ve been slaving for you and never disobeyed your orders. Yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends. But when this son of yours who has squandered your property with prostitutes comes home, you kill the fattened calf for him!

Are you the older son? Don’t get jealous that God welcomes the lost and fallen back. Don’t get jealous that God feeds them with even more. The brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.

Are we completely empty inside? What I mean by this is, when we are completely empty this is when we reply 100% on God. It is time we find complete emptiness so that God can fill us with His abundance. Today, you may be the younger son who has fallen off the path. God is waiting for you to return and give you more than you can ever imagine. Through you they shall know that I am the Lord.

Today, you may be the older son. Through you they shall know that I am the Lord. God is waiting for you to completely empty yourself. Don’t judge and compare the lost. Pour your love on them. Be secure that God will always be with you. Luke 15:31 My son, you are always with me, and everything I have is yours.
