Through you they shall know that I am the Lord. It is proven that the quietest person will be able to impact 10,000 people in his/her lifetime. Today, if you think you are quiet, and have always wished you could be more “gung-ho” think twice. As we examine the life of Mordecai today, I hope that we will realize that everyone created by God shall be used. Through you they shall know that I am the Lord. What stood out about Mordecai? Firstly, he brought up Esther. Esther 2:7 Mordecai had a cousin named Hadassah, whom he had brought up because she had neither father nor mother. And Mordecai had taken her as his own daughter when her father and mother died. Mordecai chose to take Esther as his own daughter. Through his lifestyle, relationship with God, all this helped Esther build her own relationship with God. Imagine what the enemy could have said to Esther. You are of no value, your parents left you. You are the cause of your parents death. But because of Mordecai Esther’s life was changed The second impact that Mordecai made was saving the Kings life (Esther 2:19-22). Two men Bigthana and Teresh were trying to assassinate the King. However, Mordecai found out about the plot and told Queen Esther. For this, the King did not even thank Mordecai. It was only in Esther 6:1 when the King could not sleep did he realize what Mordecai had done to save his life. A time frame is not mentioned, but imagine put in the same shoes. You save the king’s life and he doesn’t even thank you. One year goes by, 5, 10, etc. Imagine what the enemy could have said to Mordecai. See you are useless, not even the king pays any attention to you. Mordecai finished the race strong. He was not a man after power, position, title, and winning the hearts of man. He was a man of righteousness, loved God, and obeyed God. Because of the little things he did, without expecting praises from man, God rewarded him in the end. Esther 9:4 Mordecai was prominent in the palace; his reputation spread throughout the provinces, and he became more and more powerful. God uses the little, the weak, the soft spoken, the quiet warriors of God, to move mountains. Today, are you ready to be used? © 2008 Shaun Lee. www.everynation.org.sg archive: www.shauntzen.blogspot.com |
