Finding the right balance – not eating enough As mentioned yesterday, eating can be a form of a security blanket to hide our depression and stress. However, not eating at all is also not healthy and an important issue that we must address. Finding the right balance in life is vital and we can only achieve this through a strong personal relationship with God. The surprising statistic is that anorexia nervosa has risen tremendously by adolescent girls and boys in recent years. What is the main cause of this food disorder and many more food disorders in this world? Deep psychological issues, distorted belief of being labeled “fat”, low self-esteem, low self-worth, low self-value, depression, mood swings, family problems, lost of a relationship, the list goes on. This imbalance is not right and we must stop this bad habit! By our human ability we can try to stop. However, we will fail. The deep rooted issues have not been dealt with and only a true relationship with Jesus can heal us from this imbalance. What does Jesus think of each one of us? It hurts me so much to think that people feel like they are worthless and of no value. God values each one of us and THAT IS ALL THAT MATTERS. You are a living testimony of that. God created you uniquely and there is only one of you in this world-NO OTHER. God spent so much time creating each of us, He definitely has a great plan for you. Genesis 1:27 So God created man in HIS OWN IMAGE, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Psalm 139:13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. Ephesians 3:9 For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. 1 Timothy 4:4 For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving. © 2008 Shaun Lee. www.everynation.org.sg archive: www.shauntzen.blogspot.com |
