Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 31 July 2008

Aligning your will to God's: Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light for my path.

Psalm 119:105 says, Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light for my path.

Today's word of encouragement is recognizing that we are empty and useless without our Father leading and guiding us. I pray and hope that today’s word of encouragement would bring us comfort as we meditate on this verse in Psalm 119:105.

God is our lamp unto our feet, so that we do not fall. But most of all He is our light unto our path of life. No one knows what is going to happen tomorrow. In my opinion we have only two options we are either walking with God leading the way or we are walking on the other side of the road.

Today, let us give glory to God and thank Him for being our lamp and light. If we have neglected and taken Him for granted, let us regain His favor today.

Aligning your will to God's: Dying to your cross daily

Luke 9:23 Then he said to them all: “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”

Today's word of encouragement is finding out what it means to die to your cross daily. Luke 9:23 says it all. There are three things we need to do daily. 1) Deny himself/herself 2) Take up your cross daily 3) follow Jesus

How does dying to our cross daily help us align our will to God’s? To deny ones self means complete and utter surrender to God. To take up your cross daily means everyday we die to our cross, we die to our selfish wants, and desires. And we do this daily why? Because we want to follow Jesus.

Today, let’s ask ourselves how often do we die to our cross and if we are doing this on a daily basis. Aligning our will to God’s is daily, just because we accept Christ as our Lord does not mean we are free from sin.

Proverbs 3:6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Aligning your will to God’s: What are your principle objectives?

In this new series, Aligning your will to God’s, I hope and pray that we would be encouraged to take the next step. God has wired all of us so differently and uniquely, despite this fact we all worship the same God, we all read the same Word of God and God’s principle objectives for each one of us stays constant with the same fundamental principles.

In today’s word of encouragement, I hope that we would be excited to find out what God’s principle objectives are for each and every one of us.

To find out if your will is aligned to God’s is simply answering these questions. Question #1 God, what I am doing with my life right now, is it making an impact for your Kingdom? The second question we have to ask ourselves is. God, right now am I passionate with my job? Is it going to make an impact for the Kingdom of God?

By answering these questions above, I hope that we would be encouraged. If we are secure in our answers then great! Let us continue to live for His will. If our answers are shaky and we cannot answer them with confidence, then I hope we would be excited to find out what God’s principle objectives are for our lives.

There is more to life than just what is on earth. Today, I hope we would align ourselves to the will of God.

Proverbs 3:6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 28 July 2008

Letting your defenses down.

When we let our defenses down, the weapons of mass destruction are easier to penetrate. Today’s word of encouragement is discovering why we would allow our defenses to come down, and then take the necessary measures to rebuild stronger defenses.

Is our excuses: I’m only human. I’m not perfect. I’m not really sinning, I’m just looking.

Is it possible that we let our defenses down because we miss our old lifestyle, or do we feel empty inside, maybe we have compromised our relationship with God, or could it be that the “Christian lifestyle” is so restrictive?

I pray that today’s word of encouragement would allow us to find out why we are letting our defenses down. ONLY YOU KNOW WHY YOU LET YOUR DEFENSES DOWN. Secondly, I hope that we would take the necessary measures to rebuild stronger defenses.

Galatians 6:7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.

Let’s stop wallowing in our sin, getting ourselves down. Instead let us remember Galatians 6:7. God CANNOT BE MOCKED, and we reap what we sow. If we are sowing our sinful nature we will reap more of our sinful nature. Let us be encouraged today, that we may fall, but we are only going to get up and become stronger. Let’s not compromise. It is time we stop playing games.

Unveiling our sin: Accountability

Galatians 5:19-21 says, The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissension, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Today’s word of encouragement is about finding people in our lives who we can be accountable to. These are people that we trust, that know our deepest secrets, and know our areas of weakness, “our sins”.

Satan loves it when we are alone, because that is when our defenses are weakest. Today, I hope that we would be encouraged to find the right people in life that we can be accountable to. These are people who want to be challenged themselves. What would be the point in finding someone who is encouraging you to sin right? Let us exercise wisdom when it comes to finding our accountability partners.

Today I hope you would take the time to read all of 2 Samuel 13 to realize how important it is to find the right friends.

(2 Sam 13:1-5) 1 In the course of time, Amnon son of David fell in love with Tamar, the beautiful sister of Absalom son of David. 2 Amnon became frustrated to the point of illness on account of his sister Tamar, for she was a virgin, and it seemed impossible for him to do anything to her. 3 Now Amnon had a friend named Jonadab son of Shimeah, David's brother. Jonadab was a very shrewd man. 4 He asked Amnon, "Why do you, the king's son, look so haggard morning after morning? Won't you tell me?" Amnon said to him, "I'm in love with Tamar, my brother Absalom's sister." 5 "Go to bed and pretend to be ill," Jonadab said. "When your father comes to see you, say to him, 'I would like my sister Tamar to come and give me something to eat. Let her prepare the food in my sight so I may watch her and then eat it from her hand.' "

Unveiling our sin: Tuning in to the right channel

Galatians 5:19-21 says, The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissension, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

In my opinion to be aware of our sins and to recognize our flaws is better than living life foolishly unaware of the sins we commit. Everyday is a battle. Just because we call ourselves sons and daughters of God does not excuse us from sin.

I believe that the reason why so many of us have grown stagnant with our walk with God, or have absolutely no clue what on earth we are living for and what purpose we have in life, is because we take bits and pieces of God and mix it with our sin nature.

God is clear. It is man who complicates. How in the world can we mix God with our sin nature? If we want God we have to get real with God. Today, I believe that many of us will have to get real with Him.

God is watching our every move. Those alone times, those quiet and dark times when no one is watching. God is clear when it come to sin and disobedience. I hope the next time we are tempted to sin we would remember the price Jesus paid for our sin.

Unveiling our sin: Lack of Sleep

Galatians 5:19-21 says, The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissension, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

The lack of sleep is a true sign that something is not right inside us. It could be a sin issue. It could be because we are walking in one of the things mentioned in Galatians 5:19-21. Or it could be a medical reason, but I believe that God is greater than any illness we may face in life.

If we are not at peace, it is very hard to sleep, which is why more and more people are taking sleeping pills to solve their problems and issues so that they can sleep. However, today I am praying that this word of encouragement would offer us freedom and release, giving us all great sleep at night.

In Ephesians 4:26 the word of God says, In your anger do not sin: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry.

Today, if you get angry easily and often have fits of rage, yelling and screaming at people, I hope that you will find strength in God to see a great change take place. God’s warning is clear, those that live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Unveiling our sin: Hidden to the world

Galatians 5:19-21 says, The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissension, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Right now this very minute let’s examine our hearts. What are we hiding from the world? What are secrets that no one knows? I hope we realize that God see’s everything. Matthew 10:26, So do not be afraid of them. There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known.

Let us remember Romans 7:18. To know that nothing good lives in me, is unveiling our sin. Is God part of our lives or have we set God apart, divided, distant, and cold? Romans 7:18 says, I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.

Today, I hope that we will be able to unveil our hidden and darkest secrets. This is where Satan dwells, and if we do not let God remove that stronghold God’s warning to us is clear: those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

The Lord has filled my heart with so much excitement because of this new series that we will embark on. To unveil our sins, the Lord says that the sinful nature is obvious. If it is obvious, I believe that everyone reading this including myself will have the ability to nail our sins daily and take up cross.

Let us pray for open hearts right now, that God would open all our hearts. Father, please Lord humble our pride and remove the clouds that makes us blind. God, open our hearts as we all embark on this new series that we would be able to gain freedom from our sins, because we want to inherit the kingdom of God. Father, we long to be with you. Let this word of encouragement pierce our hearts to the core. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Ten Commandments: #10 You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife. You shall not set your desire on your neighbor’s house or land, his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor. (Deut. 5:21).

There is a difference between freedom of the world and freedom defined by God.

The tenth commandment states, you shall not covet. In 1 Corinthians 3:3 the Word of God says, You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere men?

Romans 7:7-9 says, What shall we say, then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! Indeed I will not have known what sin was except through the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, “Do not covet.” But sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, produced in me every kind of covetous desire. For apart from law, sin is dead. Once I was alive apart from law; but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life and I died.

Today is a day of redemption. Today’s word of encouragement is: Sin sprang to life and I died. Honestly, have we read all the ten commandments and realized our sin? Has it brought death? Are we still worldly? Have we not felt death in our bones because of our sin?

Today, as we conclude the series on the ten commandments, God says that we have an opportunity. Have we examined every crevasse, every hidden crack, and every weed, where sin has creped in and has taken dominion?

Let us today cry out to God with a battle cry. Father, no longer am I chained, bound, and slaved to sin. Today, forgive me father, I repent, I surrender all to you. I may fall seven times, I may fall prey 77 times, but Father, I will still get up! Father, you fill the gap, fill and overflow my lack, my sins, my voids, my emptiness. In Jesus name! I will not turn back!!!!!

Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 21 July 2008

Ten Commandments: #9 You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor (Deut. 5:20).

There is a difference between freedom of the world and freedom defined by God.

The ninth commandment states, you shall not lie. In Psalm 5:6 the Word of God says, You destroy those who tell lies; bloodthirsty and deceitful men the Lord abhors. Psalm 34:13 says, Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking lies.

It is a spiral affect. The moment we lie once, we open a can of worms that will continue to devour and consume us until we let go and gain freedom from God.

Today, God wants us to claim freedom and God wants to release us from any area which God does not have a stronghold on. If we have lied in our past, walking in deceit, fraud, dishonesty, cheating, etc; it is time we be set free from this.

If God is not the solid and firm foundation in our lives, then we have been bound and chained by something else. Today, I pray and hope that we would rather be bound and chained to Christ and Christ alone. Would we rather the things of this world or the things of Christ.
