Words of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 27 Mar 2009

Firm and solid foundations – provision from the Lord Psalm 111:5 He provides food for those who fear Him; He remembers His covenant forever. It isn’t easy, but we must rest on the Lord’s provision. This is where our firm and solid foundation should be based on. Again, I would like to highlight the fact that it isn’t easy. Sometimes the current situation doesn’t reveal that God’s provision is enough. Enough to feed our family, to pay the bills, and to sustain a basic lifestyle. Are we going to give up on God JUST BECAUSE OF CIRCUMSTANCES? Are we able to trust God WHOLEHEARTEDLY? 1 Timothy 6:17 Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. The Lord provides and that is all that matters. I pray that we would be able to thank God daily for everything. Sometimes circumstances in life lead to worry and doubt. We must be able to channel our worries and doubt into bold prayers. Prayers that focus on God. Prayers that declare the Lord’s blessings and relies on the Lord’s provision. Why should we trust God and not ourselves? If we place our trust in ourselves and not God we are really basing everything in life on money. If we base our lives on wealth, then I believe that we will never be satisfied in life. We will always feel like we never have enough, watch and see life slip us by because we couldn’t see beyond wealth and money. Our God is more than that. Worldly possessions are weak foundations, they are temporary and uncertain. This current economic recession is so important in life. It shows those who have rocky foundations and those who have solid foundations. In my opinion, this is important in life, because we have the ability to do something about our foundations.
