Firm and solid foundations – strong and deep relationships Relationships are important in life. Relationships with people are more than having a good time, more than shopping buddies, more than just having a good time. Today, God wants us to build strong and deep relationships so that we can lay solid foundations in our hearts and with one-another. Proverbs 27:6 Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses. Who has the authority to wound me? Not every that knows me has the ability to wound me. The people that do clearly live lives that are examples of Christ. They have a strong and deep relationship with God. They are hungry for the Word of God. Most importantly though, they want to be wounded as well. 1 Samuel 18:3 And Jonathan made a covenant with David because he loved him as himself. Am I willing to be wounded? People that can speak into our lives have the ability to correct, highlight areas in our lives where we need to improve in so that we can walk closer with God. But the question we must ask ourselves is: am I willing to be wounded? Am I willing to be submitted to God, to be humbled, to remove my pride? Wounding is important in life, if we cannot be corrected; we have deep issues and problems that need to be solved. If not, our relationship with God will be strained. The Lord uses others to strengthen your walk. God has made humans relational. It is not a one-way relationship but two-way. It is important to find true friends that can wound us. Today, if we lack friendships that have the ability to wound and challenge us, then I pray that we would be encouraged to seek to build friendships that are on this level, that have this soul shaking magnitude that is from the Lord. Again, not everyone can wound me and this is important! Because everyone has opinions even the enemy. Who can you trust, grow deeper, and build stronger foundations? Maybe it is time we change. Maybe it is time we humble ourselves and be vulnerable so that we can change. What is stopping us today? © 2009 Lee Shaun Tzen. www.everynation.org.sg archive: www.shauntzen.blogspot.com |
