Prayers for the youth and marriages – 4 Mar 2009 2 Samuel 22:29 You are my lamp, O Lord; the Lord turns my darkness into light

Father, we pray right now that our children would be able to instill in their character a heart that cares for the poor. We pray that our children would not be selfish, but selfless. Father, I sense that in the years to come, success will no longer be defined by wealth, material gain, and intellect. But it will be defined by selflessness. Father, we pray that our children would no longer be motivated by worldly desire and gain. Help us to recognize that there is more to life than this. We need You Father. We thank you Lord today for every father and mother. We pray that they would take ownership and responsibility of the title that they carry, being called a parent. To parent means that we are no longer going to give up that title. Many have given up that title. Allowing schools, teachers, governments, maids, tutors, and everyone else other than you to PARENT YOUR CHILDREN. Father, we pray for a spiritual wake-up call to take place in the lives of every parent. Fathers, God is speaking to you right now. Get off your butt, and start spending time with your children. Moms, stop nagging your children till they run away and avoid you. Whatever God is speaking to you to do, obey! In Jesus name we pray, amen.
