Praying For Nigeria and for the poor – 2 Mar 2009 1 Chronicles 16:10 Glory is His holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.

Father, we pray right now for the nation of Nigeria. Lord, it is evident and clear that this nation has tremendous potential to be used by You. However, there are numerous obstacles that hinder their progress. Today, we focus our prayers for Nigeria through these specific areas: politics, social values, education, and family unity. Father, we pray that You would raise great leaders from this nation that will lead righteously. We pray that they would be strongly rooted in the Word of God. We pray that Your people would recognize the importance in instilling strong social values. We pray that Your people would not grow weary and complacent. Father, You are going to use this nation, and we pray that Your people would recognize their great purpose and destiny. Lord, we pray that this nation and its people would recognize the importance of education. We pray today that they would instill the right education system that is based on Your principles. We pray that righteousness would be taught. Father we pray that this nation would continue to work on building stronger family unity. We pray that marriages would be strongly united by You Lord. We pray that generations of healthy marriages would take fold, because of strong foundations in You Lord. We pray for all these in Your name. Amen. © 2009 Lee Shaun Tzen

Father, we thank you for the opportunity to pray for the poor. We thank you for the tests, trials, and strengthening that will take place as we grow desperately more aware of the needs of this world. Father, we pray that Your grace and love would open our hearts. Help us to pray, to equip, and bless those that are in need. Without any selfish ambitions or reasons, we pray that godly people would be used to bless the poor and needy. O Lord, we pray specifically for struggling nations right now that You have placed on our hearts. Nations that lack clean water. Nations that lack proper resources to provide shelter. Lord, we pray right now that You would send angels, send us, use us Lord. We pray that the name of our Lord would be glorified today. We pray that the number of poor and suffering people would diminish with each passing year. We pray that the gospel would be preached to every nation. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
