Words of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 6 Mar 2009

Absolutely non-negotiable – Focus Today’s encouragement is to not lose your focus. Sometimes when we are riding on a solid trend, our passion is high, our faith level is up, and everything seems to be going fine, this can be dangerous. Be on guard. We can lose our guard and soon we are on the slippery slope of disaster. Proverbs 13:6 Righteousness guards him whose way is blameless, but wickedness overthrows the sinner. Proverbs 22:5 Thorns and snares are in the way of the perverse; He who guards his soul will be far from them. Submit to God daily. Sometimes the road to fulfilling our destiny can be like a rollercoaster ride. That is why submitting to God daily helps us to not lose our focus. There are the ups and there are the downs. That is why we must submit to God daily. Everyday is a test, and we must continue to pray that God will give us the strength to not give up. NEVER LET THE WORD OF GOD DEPART FROM OUR MOUTHS (Joshua 1:8). Joshua 1:8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Find strong support. Every building has strong foundations, without those buildings would collapse. This principle is the same for us. We need to find strong support in our lives so that we will not lose focus. Our foundations are based on the Word of God, prayer, how often we are communicating to God and strong relationships with people that we can be accountable to. Be open for correction and seek wise counsel. Finding people that we can be accountable to is so important. These people don’t just encourage us. They speak to our hearts. They give wise counsel when we have slacked off, taken sidetracks, and lost focus. Proverbs 27:6 Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses. Have we lost our focus?
