Words of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 31 Jan 2009

Let God define love in your life – Selfless and never selfish Love defined by God is selfless and is never selfish. If love was selfish, then why would God give Jesus selflessly to save ours? We are immoral, sinful, corrupted, evil, and to some degree despicable. Yet Jesus gave His life up to save ours. Today, God wants to imbed in our hearts the definition of love that is selfless. By our own power, might, strength, and will; we can TRY to be selfless. But this is not selfless. This is still doing something selfishly. Love defined by God is selfless. There is no escaping this truth. There are no hidden motives behind love. It is out of pure and honest love defined by God that we give selflessly. The question I have for you today is, have you come to a point in your life that you are able to give love selflessly, because God defines love in your life? Or are you still trying, and trying, and trying to be selfless. Today, stop trying and start redefining love in your life. Only God can redefine love.
