Words of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 22 Jan 2009

Let God define love in your life – Our Lord disciplines those He loves Proverbs 3:11-12 My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline and do not resent His rebuke, because the Lord disciplines those He loves, as a father the son He delights in. As I mentioned in the beginning of this series, we cannot take the bits and pieces of God that we like and throughout the rest that we don’t like. Today I pray that we would not despise the Lord’s discipline and resent His rebuke. Furthermore, I pray that we would not be rebellious when God is telling us to obey. Our Father is slow to anger, and He is filled with nothing but love. That is why we must be imitators of Christ. Not only is He slow to anger, but He forgives our sins and rebellious nature. When we think of rebellious people, we often think of the wild people who tend to challenge the status-quo. However, today I want to address the fact that even the quietest and most submissive person can be rebellious to God. God wants us to be aware that we too can be rebellious if we do not obey Him. Numbers 14:18 The Lord is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion. Yet He does not leave the guilty unpunished; He punishes the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation. Today, I pray that we would be obedient to God. Right now what is the hardest thing for you to submit and obey God?
