Words of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 5 Jan 2009

Of this world but not bound to it

This new series is going to draw the line, the distinction, of standards and convictions in our hearts. No one but God is going to convict us.

The basis for this entire series is founded on this verse. Matthew 16:26, What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?

There are three main groups of people that God has pinpointed. 1) Those that the world has no control over them. 2) Those that have one foot in the world and one foot with a relationship with God. 3) And those that are totally in the world.

For some of us, the world has absolutely no control over us. Why? Because we know that we have been made complete in Christ, and our relationship with Him is all we care about. My prayer is that we would continue to stand firm to this, because many claim to be strong but have fallen to the world.

On the other hand, there are those of us who are continuously walking the fine-line with one foot in the world and one foot with God. This is what God calls lukewarm. My encouragement to you if you know that you are toying with God and the world, is to stop. Stop, because I know that God has spoken to you already, and it is time we stop playing games with God. If we want God to take us seriously, then we must show it to Him. God see’s our heart and knows what is true and honest.

Finally there are those of us who want a relationship with God, but we cannot give up the world. We are fully in the world, but we cannot take the next step forward. My encouragement to you, don’t give up. Our Father loves us all unconditionally. But, God is also clear, Matthew 7:21 Not everyone who calls me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will entre the Kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. I pray that you would find the will of God today. He has a perfect plan, purpose, destiny, and will for you. How sad it is for many who will leave this world never knowing why on earth they were created for.
