Words of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 8 Jan 2009 |

Of this world but not bound to it – Who are you? Who are you? How will your children’s children remember you? These are questions that I constantly ask myself. Who are you? Because, we need to be reminded that we are made in Christ, and we are nothing without Christ. Philippians 2:5 says, “Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus.” How will your children’s children remember you? I ask this question constantly because it keeps me grounded, focused, and it sets my eyes on God. My human nature would seek the highest paying job, would rather spend every cent today to enjoy material gain. However, when I ask myself this question, I am humbled and I begin to centre my eyes towards God. What we feed our minds, what we feed our souls, what we think about; all these factors reveal the very root of a person. God’s Word says in Philippians 2:3, Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Today, we are once again reminded that we are of this world but we cannot allow ourselves to be bound to it. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, and consider others better than yourself. Again, I ask you, who are you and how will your children’s children remember you? © 2009 Lee Shaun Tzen. www.everynation.org.sg archive: www.shauntzen.blogspot.com |
