Prayers for the youth and marriages – 7 Jan 2009

Prayers for the youth and marriages – 7 Jan 2009

Ephesians 6:1-4 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor you father and mother, which is the first commandment with promise: that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth. And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.

Lord, we thank you today that You are setting the right foundation in every single youth, child, and heart.

We may be parents today, but we were once a child. If we treated our parents without respect and honor, RIGHT NOW IN THE NAME OF JESUS WE ASK FOR FORGIVENESS.

Lord, we pray that healing can take place. Children today, I humble pray for you that You would always respect and honor your parents. Even if they abuse you, even if they have left you, even if you are an orphan. YOUR ACTIONS, YOUR BITTERNESS, WILL CARRY ON FOREVER UNTIL YOU GIVE IT ALL TO GOD. Your sorrow will be passed down to your children and children’s children, unless forgiveness takes place.

Today, we pray for transformation of hearts. We pray for Your love, mercy, and grace to shine. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Lord, we pray for ever parent, for every marriage, that they would be grounded and founded upon the Word of God.

Father, we pray that these verses would pierce our hearts. As parents, as future parents, how will you raise your children?

Today, if you are a parent who has abused your children, verbally, physically, and emotionally, I pray that repentance, forgiveness, submission, and healing can take place in your heart. The scares that you have left behind are memories that will last a lifetime. However, through the redemption of God, we have the ability to re-write happier memories.

Today, let us take action to bring healing to the past. I pray O Lord, that You would bind and reveal every abusive parent. Let their actions be bound right now O God. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
