Words of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 23 Jan 2009

Let God define love in your life – There is love in suffering Suffering is part of life. If we ever thought that we would live a pain free life, we do not understand the meaning of love defined by God. The very fact that Christ suffered for us all on the cross, reveals what life is all about. But we must remember that God comforts us through our sufferings. Today, I pray for those that do not know the Lord, because when they suffer they suffer alone without God’s comfort. 2 Corin 1:5 For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. We don’t know what will happen tomorrow. We don’t know the sufferings that may lie ahead of us, but with the strength of the Lord, we have the ability to face any trial and test in life. Without God we are lost. Psalm 119:50 My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life. No matter how hard we try with our “human” ability to safeguard, protect, and plan there are simply things in life that are out of human control. What lies ahead only God knows. I pray that we would recognize the meaning of God’s love today, and the importance of suffering. Many are suffering right now because of the global economic crisis.
