Words of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 9 Jan 2009

Of this world but not bound to it – Are you the right model? Colossians 2:20 Since you died with Christ to the basic principles of this world, why, as though you still belonged to it, do you submit to its rules? Are we subjected to the rules, the games, and the same playing field as the world? I don’t know about you, but if I was subjected to the world I’d fail miserably because I don’t measure up to the standards of the world. The saddest part of today’s message is that, even those that claim to be sons and daughters of God, are still bound to the world. Colossians 2:20 speaks right at the core of my soul. Why? Because, if we have died together with Christ, then why are we still submitted to the rules, games, and same playing field as the world? I sense that God is encouraging us to be: men and women of conviction. STOP PLAYING GAMES. Are we playing games with the world and more importantly with God? Father, no longer are we bound to the world. Today, we recognize that we are weak.
