Words of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 29 Oct 2008

God blesses those He corrects Jeremiah 10:23 (Message) I know, God, that mere mortals can’t run their own lives, that men and women don’t have what it takes to take charge of life. So correct us, God, as you see best. God’s Words in Jeremiah 10:23 are very clear. We cannot run our own lives without God. We need God to correct us. God blesses those He corrects. But do we hate correction? The word of God says in Proverbs 12:1 He who hates correction is stupid. Today I pray for two things. Firstly, for humility. We need humility in order to surrender and accept correction. Secondly, for teachable hearts. In my opinion it is only when we are teachable that we can learn and implement God’s correction. Without a teachable heart, we are still acting in OUR OWN ACCORD. Proverbs 15:32 He who ignores discipline despises himself. I pray against our stubborn attitude, our unwillingness to change. When we ignore discipline we are actually despising ourselves.
