Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 2 Oct 2008

Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 2 Oct 2008

Being foolish

Ephesians 5:15-17 Be very careful, then, how you live – not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is.

Most often people think that the older we get the less mistakes I will make. Foolishness is not age sensitive. Anyone and everyone can make foolish mistakes, even the most wise.

Today’s word of encouragement is about minimizing foolishness. As a child we foolishly disobey our parents. “Don’t touch the stove it is hot.” Yet for some reason we still touch it, get a burn, and from that point on we remember what hot feels like.

As we get older, life changing decisions we make will either bless or alter our future. For example, as a teenager some of my friends got into relationships, and before I knew it someone in my school got pregnant.

Investing in the stock market, being in debt and unable to pay off all your loans, as wise as we may be, we can still make foolish decisions in life.

God’s word stays firm and constant. Be very careful with how we live, be wise, make the most of every opportunity, but don’t be foolish, understand what the Lord’s will is.
