Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 10 Oct 2008

The 6 things the Lord hates, 7 that are detestable to Him For the next week we will spend time meditating on Proverbs 6:16-19. I pray and hope that we would remember these verses like our need for water everyday. Proverbs 6:16-19 There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: 17 haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, 18 a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, 19 a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers. Today I pray and hope that you would spend time reading through these verses and mediate on them. Let us allow God to work in our hearts. Let us ask God to humble us that we may be able to hear His voice clearly, that we would not be defensive and stubborn. God has so much in store for each and everyone of us. However, it is our pride, our lies, sinful nature, that pulls us down and stops us from fulfilling what God has planned.
