Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 9 Oct 2008

The test of faith – your greatest enemies Proverbs 25:21 (Message) If you see your enemy hungry, go buy him lunch; if he’s thirsty, bring him a drink. Your generosity will surprise him with goodness, and God will look after you. To have our faith tested is priceless. I hope we will continue to long for our faith to be tested, despite what people may say about us. To me if our faith is not tested daily, that would be a concern. Today’s word of encouragement is a challenge, to love our enemies, encourage them, and let God do the rest. It is extremely easy to fight back, to give it worst than received, but to be able to do what Proverbs 25:21-22 says is great faith. Our enemy may be hungry, buy him lunch. Our enemy may be thirsty get him a drink. Our enemy may say we are fat, we aren’t good enough, stupid, dumb, useless, a failure, ugly, etc. But yet we still feed him when he is hungry, we sacrifice our time to encourage. Can we really do this? What are your enemies today? Pray a prayer of blessings over them. Pray that God would touch their hearts. Do not play their games.
