The 6 things the Lord hates, 7 that are detestable to Him #3 Hands that shed innocent blood Proverbs 6:16-19 There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: 17 haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, 18 a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, 19 a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers. Our hands have been made by God for a purpose for a reason to do good works. However, in this world there are some who have shed innocent blood by ways and means that have gone hidden to the world. Though hidden, God still sees. How does this relate to our day to day lives? Well, let us examine our hands right now. Are we using our hands for a purpose, for the The Lord has purposefully revealed to us that innocent people have been killed in many nations. What are we going to do about it? Are we going to ignore it? God’s word is clear. He can use anyone to make a difference. 1 Samuel 16:7 Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. Why do we limit ourselves to make a difference in this world? In a way are we limiting God? Are we limited because of what man says about us? Or are we limitless, unbounded, and vastly capable because of God and He alone matters? Our hands. We have two choices, use it to glorify God, or it is useless. © 2008 Shaun Lee. www.everynation.org.sg archive: www.shauntzen.blogspot.com |
