Prayers for the youth and marriages – 8 Oct 2008

Prayers for the youth and marriages – 8 Oct 2008

Father in the name of Jesus we pray right now that you would bind, remove, and cast out the spirit of laziness.

One of the greatest plagues to the youth of the next generation is laziness. Father, today we pray that you would instil in every child and every youth the Word of God.

Father, awaken us. Help us to be diligent today, so that we can be effective for the Kingdom of God.

There is no quick way to riches, but the Word of God says in Proverbs 10:4 Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth.

Father, you know our character, we cannot deceive you. God you cannot be mocked. Help us today, to be diligent. Help us today to honor and respect our parents. We thank you and humble ourselves before you today. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Proverbs 20:11 Even a child is known by his actions, by whether his conduct is pure and right.

Proverbs 21:2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the hearts.

Father we pray against stubbornness. We pray again anger, strife, bitterness, and fits of rage. In the name of Jesus we pray for self-control. In the name of Jesus we pray for Love. Love defined by God and not man.

Proverbs 23:13-14 (NKJV) Do not withhold correction from a child, for if you beat him with a rod, he will not die. You shall beat him with a rod, and deliver his soul from hell.

Lord we pray for parents to instil discipline in their children. Remind us all Lord, that discipline is love. To withhold discipline is to suffocate our children.

In the name of Jesus we thank you for what is going to take place in marriages today. We thank you that children are going to be who they were made to be, because parents today chose to live righteously.

In the name of Jesus we glorify and praise your name. Amen.
