Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 3 Oct 2008

The test of faith As we begin on a new series of the test of faith, I hope it will encourage us all, young and old, to live lives wanting to be tested by God. In my opinion you cannot teach a person how to be an expert as God tests our faith, and overcoming adversity. The interesting thing is that some people view life like this, “It is ok that I am suffering today, because later on I will not suffer anymore.” This mentality of, suffer today for a better tomorrow, is a false hope. Most often it is our in-built security system which is suppose to prevent us from feeling depressed. We need to face adversity the way Jesus did. Jesus was in constant communication with God. Why is this important? So that we don’t drift away. When Jesus faced accusations and persecution He did not fight back. Why? To know if we are being used by God. To know if we are being effective for the Kingdom of God, it is through the test of faith. Right now what type of adversity are you facing? Let us examine our lives. Are we really being tested by our faith? Or are biggest life concerns and worries is if we can buy the latest fad? What is God saying to us right now about our faith level?
