Words of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 17 Oct 2008

The 6 things the Lord hates, 7 that are detestable to Him #7 A man who stirs up dissension among brothers Proverbs 6:16-19 There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers. Finally the last thing that our Lord hates is a person who stirs up dissension among brothers. When I imagine a person stirring up dissension, I picture a person who is purposely trying to cause division amongst a group. A person who is purposefully trying to rouse up disagreements and bitterness towards others. We find these characters everywhere. Are we people who call ourselves sons and daughters of God and yet we are causing dissension, strife, bitterness, and division when God has not commanded us to do this? I hope that we would remember these seven things daily. Let it be ingrained in our hearts.
