Words of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 27 Feb 2009

Absolutely non-negotiable – gambling your life away

Someone spent so much time creating you. The way you look, the way you talk, your finger print, your height, your emotions, your personality. Despite all these factors, do we gamble our lives away?

How do we gamble our lives away? In my opinion, we have to continuously seek God for direction. This is an absolute non-negotiable. God makes it very clear if we are gambling our lives away. There is absolutely no point in claiming to have great talent, great gifts, but yet we are doing nothing to make a difference with what God has given us. Doing nothing about your life is gambling your life away.

Talk is cheap and easy. Putting your words into action is the key. In my opinion, the world is filled with many “BIG” talkers, that don’t really do much. There are a few who don’t talk big, but do amazing things for the Kingdom of God.

Risk. When God clearly puts up danger signs, red flags, and yet we can’t see them, this says something. Are we foolishly gambling life away? God’s direction is very clear and an absolute non-negotiable. Who are we trying to prove? When we take risks because it is going to add to the Kingdom of God, that speaks volumes about the person’s obedience. However, when we take foolish risks based on assumptions, based on rash decisions, it also reveals a lot about a person’s obedience.

God is encouraging us today to find out what He has planned for you in this life that will make an impact for the Kingdom of God. Some of us need to do something about our lives. Some of us need to take the risk, and walk in obedience. However, what is clear today is that we cannot gamble our lives away, and that is an absolute non-negotiable.

James 2:17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

James 2:22 You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did.
