Words of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 8 Feb 2009

Bridging the gap – faith Where is your faith in? Is it in things or is it in God? Today, God wants us to stand in the gap so that people who lack faith can understand the meaning of faith. However, how can we stand in the gap if we ourselves lack faith? Faith starts with us being a life example. There is no point in telling people that they should build their faith, put their trust in God, and stop trusting in their own hands; when we ourselves aren’t. Standing in the gap for people is not easy. It is a position where we can be used by God to encourage and cheer those who lack faith, to never stop giving up on God. However, the moment we give up on people, the gap becomes bigger, and the lack of faith continues on and on. Today, I pray that we would never give up standing in the gap for people. We stand in the gap not because we want to rescue people, but because we are God’s vessels and we are obedient to His voice.
