Words of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 14 Feb 2009

Bridging the gap – love Valentines is a special day for couples to ignite sparks in their marriage and strengthen their bond. We pray that God will continue to bless every marriage right now throughout the world and we also pray that divorce rates would fall to an all-time low. Today, I know that God wants to encourage us to bridge gaps through love, and to stand in the gap by pouring out love. It is out of love that our Lord Jesus Christ stood in the gap for us, so that we can have a personal relationship with God. He didn’t have to, yet He did. Why? Because He loves us all so much. We have been given eternal life because of Jesus who is our bridge. Have we come to a point in our lives that we hate someone so much that we cannot love others? Hate is such a powerful Word. The Word of God says in 1 John 3:15 Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life in Him. Today, I believe that God wants us all to stand in the gap. How could we ever love God if we hate? Let us not wait for the other party to say sorry. If God is convicting us to apologize, to ask for forgiveness, to mend this hate, than what are we waiting for? The longer we take to mend, heal, and restore – the wider gaps and holes in our lives become. Have we seen people who live in hate? It is evident and obvious that because of this hatred, their holes and gaps separate them from the ability to love others. How could we ever love God if we hate?
