Praying For Netherlands and for the poor – 25 Feb 2009

Praying For Netherlands and for the poor – 25 Feb 2009

Deuteronomy 8:2 Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the desert these forty years, to humble you and to test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep His commands.

Father, as we pray for this nation today, I sense a people and culture that has taken You for granted Lord.

However, there are a few Caleb’s, Joshua’s, Daniel’s, Peter’s and John’s that are willing to stand in the gap for this nation. Today, we pray that these righteous people would stand up against the tide. We pray against fear. We pray against embarrassment. Stand up and do not waver. The Lord is going to use You. You are His shepherd. Lead the lost and do not wait, says the Lord.

A whole generation of mighty men and women will stand up for what is righteous, pure, and holy. Lord, we claim this nation Yours today.

Father, the current state of this nation saddens my heart. I sense a heavy weight of materialism, drugs, fornication, and carelessness towards You. However, we are not shaken or moved by “human” statistics. Father redefine this nation.

In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Let Your light shine on the earth today O Lord. We pray that Your light would light the path of darkness. The poor are many, countless. The starving and hungry are in the millions. Yet many do not care.

Father, we pray right now that the chains be broken. Lies be broken, cheating be revealed.

Lord, we pray that righteousness would be at the centre of the poor and needy. Lord, we pray that this world would be united by a common theme, reason, and purpose: YOU.

We need You Lord. We humbly ask that You would guide and show us the way. Help us to make a difference in the lives of the poor.

You O Lord rule and reign. May Your love be all that satisfies. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
