Words of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 21 Feb 2009

Absolutely non-negotiable – value of marriage. How do you value marriage? It seems like many do not understand the value of marriage. In the beginning it is all about romance, but after awhile we get tired and easily irritated at each other. A few years down, children come into the picture. There is no time for each other, and soon our children are all grown up. What happens next? Why is it that some of us cannot be faithful to our spouse while others can? If we have made our vows on that very day we got married, then you have made a life commitment which is an absolute non-negotiable. The choices we make today affect tomorrow. This is a principle that has been ingrained in me since the day I got serious with God. The choices I make today both good and bad will affect tomorrow. Make good choices and God will bless. Make bad choices then prepare for the consequences. I believe that God is very clear. Being married to one spouse is an absolute non-negotiable. If we are not faithful, then maybe we do not understand the meaning of love. But in my opinion, if we cannot be faithful to one, we have not found love, and we do not know what love means, defined by God. Exodus 19:5 Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession.
