Words of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 17 Dec 2008 |

There is power in sacrifice Sacrifice for the lost. We are all on this journey called life. Why do we build more enemies? Why do we create more enemies? Doesn’t this world have enough of them? I pray that the parable of the lost sheep would open our eyes today because, There is power in sacrifice. Luke 15:1-7 Now the tax collectors and “sinners” were all gathering around to hear Him. But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.” Then Jesus told them this parable: “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ I TELL YOU THAT IN THE SAME WAY THERE WILL BE MORE REJOICING IN HEAVEN OVER ONE SINNER WHO REPENTS THAN OVER NINETY-NINE RIGHTEOUS PERSONS WHO DO NOT NEED TO REPENT. It is time we stop being like the Pharisees. Jesus loves every sinner. There will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner than millions of us all, “holy” and “righteous” people who do not need to repent. It is time we stop, it is time we sacrifice our lifestyle, our structured and rigid ways, so that we can SEE PEOPLE THE WAY JESUS SEE THEM. © 2008 Shaun Lee. www.everynation.org.sg archive: www.shauntzen.blogspot.com |
