Words of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 11 Dec 2008

Walking on water

When we love someone so much, we are willing to look beyond the person’s flaws, words, bad attitude, and ugly character. However, when it is our enemy we often only notice the flaws, sins, ugly side, and everything good is of no value.

Today, I believe that God is challenging us all to walk on water towards Jesus. Loving our enemies is the first key. But what we are going to focus on today is: stop protecting, stop defending, and stop holding back the person you love so much from being who they were meant to be.

By protecting and defending those we love, we will never let them walk on water themselves towards Jesus. They need to learn from their mistakes. It is like a lioness that always kills the prey for her cubs never teaching them how to stalk, how to attack, how to bite and defend itself from enemies because they are too precious. But one day the cubs will get older, and one day the lioness will die. If the lioness never lets her cubs learn from their mistakes, they will most likely die of starvation and attack from enemies.

I hope that we can learn something from lions today. It is time we let those we love learn how to deal with their issues and stop covering for them. The more we defend, protect, and help, the more the enemy gains. Let us stop sinking ourselves, and teaching our loved one how to sink. It is time we walk on water together towards Jesus.
