Words of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 5 Dec 2008

The fear of the Lord What are you afraid of? I believe that from this day forward we will attain the right perspective on fear, and the meaning of, “fearing God above all.” Matthew 10:26-28 So do not be afraid of them. There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. What I tell you in the ear, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs. Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Matthew 10:26-28 clearly reveals what we are to do. Do not be afraid, be obedient to God. When God speaks to us we do not hide it. We do not, conceal it. We speak and proclaim all that God says. Are we scared to proclaim? Are we scared to pray for the stranger on the street who is walking in pain and suffering? Are we afraid of physical persecution because we proclaim the Lord’s name on earth? Jesus says, “Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.” Matthew 10:30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. Jesus Christ says it plainly to us all. Even the very hairs of your head are ALL NUMBERED. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. If we are not encouraged by our Lord Jesus Christ today, it is clear.
