Words of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 9 Dec 2008

Walking on water - Matthew 14:22-34 A loved one is very ill, and the doctors believe that there is not much hope left for the person. They expect death within the next few days to weeks. By faith we believe that God is going to heal and show His love to those that do not believe. However, doubt creeps in. Circumstances prove otherwise. Today, if you have a love one that is sick and “man” says there is not much hope, it is time we pray and fast. Just as King David prayed and fasted for his dying son. Just as Esther told Mordecai to get all of God’s people to pray and fast. We too must pray and fast. Jesus is the only healer. Families will be transformed and united through these times. We can only pray and fast. David’s son eventually died as God foretold. God saved His people from the hands of Haman. So why do we pray and fast? We are not in control, God is. Whether our loved one will survive or die, it is in the hands of God. Today, where is our faith level at? Are we walking on water towards Jesus in regards to our dying loved one, or are we sinking?
