Words of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 3 Dec 2008

Fear the Lord 1 Samuel 12:24 But be sure to fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you. Address our sins to God. We must recognize that we are sinners. Everyday is a battle. It could be temptation. It could be our tongue. It could be anger, moodiness, cheating, lying, lack of self-control, bad attitude, holding hurt from the past, jealousy, and many many more. Realize that the devil knows our weaknesses and like candy to our sin, sometimes we cannot resist. The fear of the Lord, is power. Luke 12:5 But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him. If we think we are pure as white, think twice. Are we continuously asking God for forgiveness? Are we continually repenting? Our faith grows stagnant when we stop. To fear the Lord, means we are going to serve him faithfully with all our heart. Imagine right now if every single person in this world would fear the Lord. It would be an awesome sight.
