Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 12 Apr 2008

You are the greatest influence to your children, yet why do you leave everything to the “World” to teach your children? “World” means, teachers, nannies, friends, t.v, media, grandparents, the list goes on and on. You are the greatest influence to your children. It is great that your children are being taught by Christian teachers in school, great kids church teachers, and all your friends are from your church, but still The greatest influence to your children, IS YOU. At this moment if you are thinking of an excuse which proves why you can’t spend more time influencing your children know this. God did not give your children different parents. He specifically called you and your spouse to be their parents, so start being a parent. Don’t give up that role to anyone else. Some of you might say, oh it is too late to start being a parent now. They don’t even listen to me. How do you know, are you God? Don’t lose LOVE! Don’t neglect discipline. And never leave God out of the picture. Teach your children how to build a strong relationship with God. How? Be that example first! Isaiah 40:30-31 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
