Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 9 Apr 2008

Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 9 Apr 2008

Healthy parent and children relationships are truly a blessing. As time moves forward, so must we. Conversations begin to change, and soon one day your children too will become parents. But the saddest part is that our careers, lifestyle, and goals get in the way of building strong relationships with our children.

Most parents can’t understand why their children are giving them an attitude as teenagers. Maybe if you spent a little more time building with them it would make a difference. There is a difference between being physically present but your mind isn’t there, and being there focused on them.

Today’s word of encouragement is developing good time management. Having a weekly family bonding schedule is good, so that your children will know that on this day, and for this amount of time it is family bonding time and there is no compromise. More time spent reading the Bible and praying together as a family is worth more than anything we can imagine. Finally, spend time with each one of your children praying for them and knowing what they are going through.

As always, I live by this statement, “The choices we make today affect tomorrow.”

Deut 30:19,20 19 …I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live 20 and that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the LORD is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
