Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 11 Apr 2008

Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 11 Apr 2008

God has purposed each one of us into the families that we have been born into. He specifically chose our parents, and he specifically MADE each one of our kids. All of us for a purpose. Some of us may have bad relationships with our parents or with our children, and this has gone on for years. Today’s word of encouragement is specifically for us who live with broken family relationships, AND NOW IS THE TIME TO STOP! CHANGE! AND SEE TRANSFORMATION

Unhealthy family relationships. Imagine this daughter and mother; they have never talked to each other for years because of unsettled hurt. Both of them can’t even look at each other, or eat dinner together. Just the sight of each other makes them want to start a fight. The daughter got married, partly due to running away from her mother. The marriage is rocky and she too is having a broken relationship with her own daughter. One day the daughter gets sick with cancer, and on her death bed she asks to see her mother. She wants to say sorry and please forgive me. The daughter wants to hear these words before she dies from her mother and no one else, “I Love You.” Yet, the daughter’s mother won’t even see her.

Imagine this son and father; they have never talked to each other since the son was 12. The father used to hit him and especially the son’s mother. When the son turned 12, the father abandoned the family because he had another family with three kids. The son’s mother had to support the whole family on her own; she did all this and eventually developed spinal problems due to her work to support her family. The father was a wealthy businessman, when he learnt that his former wife had a bad spine he did not even offer a single sent to help the family. Eventually, the son’s mother passed away due to the lack of proper medical care.

Today’s word is a reminder, for us all. Whether or not these stories may relate to you or are the extreme, I hope that it makes you think about your own family. I hope that we DO NOT HARBOR OR KEEP ANGER, HURT, AND UNFORGIVENESS INSIDE US. The earlier we settle issues, the healthier our family relationships will be. The longer we keep things inside us, the weeds, mold, and fungus starts to grow – the devils playground.

Ephesians 4:26 “In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry.
