Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 8 Apr 2008 |

Matthew 11:25 At that time Jesus said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.” How fast do our children grow up, it seems like it was only yesterday when they were just little kids running around. Now, they have their own minds. Now, I’m no longer the cool parent. My kid’s attitude just stinks. They want to be independent but they make so many mistakes. Does this sound at all familiar? Parents, sometimes we get so caught up on our children’s problems, their failures, and lack of discipline. If we over focus on the negative, we will limit them from finding their purpose and destiny given to them by God. Today’s word is this: It is time we stop focusing on the flaws and start focusing on God’s plans for our children. Yes, our children may make mistakes, they may have bad attitudes, and they may talk back to you. But they were still given to you as a blessing from God; each one of them is unique, designed by God HIMSLEF! And each one was given a unique destiny by God. (Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.") The word of God says in Matthew 11:25 says, “You have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.” I hope we would not look down on our children. God has a plan for each child! Let us be excited to find out what that plan is from God. Parents, today’s word is specifically for you. Each one of you has a great call and a great responsibility. To pray, to guide, to teach your children to seek God first! To teach them to hear God’s voice, and to be their hawk eyes as they embark on their own unique journey given by God. © Apr 2008 Shaun Lee. www.everynation.org.sg archive: www.shauntzen.blogspot.com |
