Words of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 6 Jan 2009

Of this world but not bound to it - What makes you tick everyday? Our focus this week is on this concept: we are of this word but not bound to it. Matthew 16:26 says, What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul? What makes you tick everyday? When we read Matthew 16:26 over and over again, it makes me ask myself, “What makes me tick everyday?” Jesus says, “What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul?” If we are living for any other reason than to be used by God, we will never find complete satisfaction in life. When I say tick, it means what are we living for that makes our heart continue beating. Not in the physical but our spiritual heart beat. Look around, and it is easy to find many souls that have stopped living. Right now, do you know why your heart beats for? To be honest with you, if one cannot answer this question, it is time we find out. You will know the answer when, nothing can stop you. Money, fame, power, glory, they all have no control. Why?
