Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 30 Sept 2008

The self-centered generation I would like to spend a little bit more time through the next few days focusing on Ephesians 5:15-17. I believe that God is not only warning us, but He is clearly telling us all, we need to examine how we live everyday. Ephesians 5:15-17 Be very careful, then, how you live – not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. Today’s word of encouragement is a simple question. Are we self-centered? When we talk with people, friends, do you find yourself talking all about YOU? We need to hear ourselves talk. Sometimes I notice that a lot of “I’s” come out of my mouth. In my opinion we need to be mindful of our self-centered, self-absorbed state because if we allow this continue it will become a bad habit. Eventually, we will become ineffective for the Kingdom of God. God’s words are clear. He says, Be very careful, then, how you live.” How in the world could we make the most of every opportunity, if we are self-centered? Today, let us be wise.
