Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 8 Sept 2008 |

Giving your best to the next Are we storing up, hording our gold, keeping our talent and gifts in the closet, far away from passing it on to the next generation? Are we that insecure, are we withholding our blessings to the next generation because of our insecurities? The Word of God is clear, countless times great men of God ruled and were righteous in the sight of God, yet their sons did evil in the sight of God and did not remove the foreign gods and idols. As I read over these verses in throughout Chronicles, God keeps saying to me, Disciple the next generation, teach the next generation, instill the Word to the next generation, and do not withhold anything back. Today, let us declare in our hearts that we are going to pass on and give all of our best to the next generation. Do not think you are old, useless, and irrelevant to the youth. Your relationship with God, your wisdom, your adversities in life, your trials, failures, joys, achievements are all treasures. Treasures worth passing on to the next. Money cannot buy these things. Your children may have an attitude that smells like a skunk. It smells so bad that you can’t even believe that they are your own sons and daughters. Today, let us not fight the attitude. Instead let us open their eyes the way God would. Let us, reveal to them what the world really looks like when they are thrown into the deep end of the ocean. Or are they too “precious” that we are scared to throw them there? Let us pray Psalm 69 over our children and the next generation. Father, v1. Save the youth, O God, for the waters have come up to their necks. V2. They sink in the miry depths, where there is no foothold. They have come into the deep waters; the floods engulf them. Father, we pray that through their bad attitude, their own sins, they would hunger and thirst for you. V3. We pray that they would be worn out from calling for help; their throat parched. Their eyes fail, because they are looking for you Lord. Father, we pray for generations that would desire all of you and nothing less than. © Sept 2008 Shaun Lee. www.everynation.org.sg archive: www.shauntzen.blogspot.com |
