Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 13 Sept 2008

Giving: The Word of God God has given us all the Word. Not only does the Word of God teach us, encourages us, helps us through times of trials, but the Word is God. John 1:1 Today’s word of encouragement is about your time reading the Bible. If we rarely read the Word, in my opinion we are ineffective. Some people just read daily devotionals, such as this Word of Encouragement. One of two verses in a daily devotional is not enough food to be effective in the Kingdom of God. This is a vital question that we must ask ourselves. Have I read the Word of God enough that I can use verses, stories in the Bible to encourage people around me? People who are heart broken. People who are facing trials. People who are sick. People who just need the love of God in their lives. If we need to change our lifestyle so that we can read the Word of God then let us not wait any longer, let us start right now. If reading the Bible has become a routine, boring, and we rush through it, then let us pray to God and simply ask God to reignite the fire in us to find the passion for God in our lives. In my opinion, if we continue to dry up and the Word continues to be boring, we are going to die a slow death. Eventually God will be complete nonexsistent in ourlives. Today let us draw our strength from the Word of God.
