Ten Commandments: #7 You shall not commit adultery (Deut. 5:18). There is a difference between freedom of the world and freedom defined by God. The seventh commandment states, you shall not commit adultery. In Matthew 5:28 the Word of God also states, But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. Is it human nature to lust after something that we do not have? If we are committed to our relationship with God we would obey. It is when we lack commitment that we fall prey to the hands of the enemy. Lust is defined as longing desire, eagerness to possess or enjoy unlawful desire of carnal pleasure. Let’s examine our hearts right now, and check: Am I lusting after something that is unlawful? If your answer is yes, then STOP MAKING EXCUSES! STOP TRYING TO REASON WITH RIGHT AND WRONG. When we are walking in sin, it is pleasurable. Especially when we don’t get caught. But when we get caught, when we are exposed, when we see reality hit us, that is the eye opener. People don’t realize that they are not just destroying their own lives, but they are destroying their children’s future, their spouse, and people in their circle. God’s commandments ARE NOT MEANT TO BE TAKEN LIGHTLY. WE WILL PAY FOR THE CHOICES WE MAKE. Today we have a choice. Tomorrow we will have choices as well. What choice are you going to make? © July 2008 Shaun Lee. www.everynation.org.sg archive: www.shauntzen.blogspot.com |
