Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 9 July 2008

My Shield Psalm 7:10 My shield is God most high, who saves the upright in heart. Psalm 18:2 The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salivation, my stronghold. For some of us, arrows have flown left and right. All that has consumed us is false accusations. Today’s word of encouragement is a reminder that our Lord is our shield that protects us from arrows that can emotionally scare us. Today, we have the ability to remove the arrows that have hurt us. We have the ability to gain our shield and strength from God, and we have the ability to make change. How badly do you want the shield from God? Ask and it shall be given to you, says the Lord in Matthew 7:7. In my opinion, if we neglect, forget, and count the shield of God useless, we are going to battle barren and naked. Everyday is a battle. At work, people can be talking behind our backs. At home, we may be facing bitterness.
