Bridging the gap – forgiveness Yesterday’s words of encouragement are a vital component to building bridges. The ability to know whether or not we are building man-made bridges out of our own strength. Or are we building great bridges because God is leading. Today, we will be focusing on one of the most vital bridges in life that many fail to build and many fail to stand in the gap. FORVIVENESS. Forgiveness is one of the most important bridges in life. If we consider our relationship with God the most important thing in our lives, yet we cannot forgive and love our neighbour as ourselves, then we haven’t really loved, and we do not know God. 1 Corinthians 13:5 Love keeps no wrongs. When it comes to forgiveness we need to build a strong bridge that isn’t easily offended and we need to stand in the gap so that others can easily forgive us. Forgiveness and love go hand-in-hand. We may be quick to ask for forgiveness but, are we quick to receive forgiveness as well? Man-made bridges. Be attentive and be aware, because in our own human approach we may have OUR OWN SOLUTION AND WAY OF FORGIVENESS. STOP!!! Anything done in our own strength, our own way, will fail. The gap of unforgiveness is only going to grow bigger. Let’s build the right bridge of forgiveness today and stand in the gap when God tells us to. Judges 2:19 But when the judge died, the people returned to ways even more corrupt than those of their fathers, following other gods and serving and worshiping them. They refused to give up their evil practices and stubborn ways. 2 Chronicles 15:7 But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded. © 2009 Lee Shaun Tzen. www.everynation.org.sg archive: www.shauntzen.blogspot.com |
