Bridging the gap – Effective use of time Ezekiel 22:30 I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found none. Every second that passes is unlivable again. How much time do you spend with your spouse? Some of us are too caught up with our own passions that we neglect spending time building our relationship with our spouse. Soon gaps start creeping in that separates us. Before we know it, our marriage has fallen apart. Don’t think just because you are young it is your parents responsibility to spend time with you. It is time we bridge the gaps that separate us from our parents. Maybe it is too much computer games, too much talking on the phone and online chat. What youths don’t realize is, healthy and strong family unity is vital in our future. FRIENDSHIPS COME AND GO, BUT WE ARE ONLY GIVEN ONE FATHER AND ONE MOTHER. Your children. Have you neglected your children for your own personal desires? Maybe it is money that drives you. Maybe it is sports, computer games, going to clubs, the list goes on and on. One hour spent effectively with our children strengthens and builds our children’s future. However, one hour spent away from our children separates us further and further away. Finally, our relationship with God. Are we spending effective time with God? Reading the Word, praying, and building relationships around us so that they are drawn to God. These are things that we do daily. God must come first. If not, we are building more gaps in our lives that will separate us further from God. © 2009 Lee Shaun Tzen. www.everynation.org.sg archive: www.shauntzen.blogspot.com |
