Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 14 July 2008

Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 14 July 2008

Ten Commandments: #2 You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth (Deuteronomy 5:8).

There is a difference between freedom of the world and freedom defined by God. Many people define Christianity as, “It is just a bunch of laws, rules, and I don’t want that because it cramps my lifestyle.” If that sounds like you today, then this series is meant for you.

The second commandment states, you shall not make for yourself a carved image, and worship them.

There are many religions out there, and my purpose for writing this daily word of encouragement is not to fight or to prove that my God is the real God. The Word of God speaks for itself.

Today’s word of encouragement is clear. Worship God and God alone. I believe that some of us are at a crossroad with our walk with God. Things have not gone our way, and we are at a crossroad. One path leads to God and the other is a familiar path where we just came from.

Many will turn back from where they came from because they are used to that “life” and others will take a leap of faith and take the other path. What path are you going to take?

Today, if you are at a crossroad in your life, I encourage you to take a good look at your old life. Realize that it is easy to turn back, it is safe to walk back there, but you will never see the full potential of God in your life by turning back.
