Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 12 Oct 2007

Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 12 Oct 2007

As we head into the end of another week, some of us have had tough weeks. Stress at work, studying for exams, or had an unresolved fight with someone. I hope we remember that even if we have had tough weeks, we would all remember to draw near to God, to continue reading our Bible and praying.

Today’s word of encouragement is about time management. I hope we realize that how we spend our time throughout our day is interlinked with our future and destiny. If you are wondering how, let me paint the picture.

Firstly, take the time right now to examine our lives on a daily basis. What do we do everyday from the point we wake up to the point that we sleep. After we have examined our day, let’s ask this question, How much time is spent with God? And the next question is, “What areas in our lives are placed above God?”

Secondly, after examining our lives on a daily basis, the next thing we need to do, is examine the good habits and bad habits in our lives. If our time spent with God is lacking, nonexistent, dead, dry, weak, invisible, and compromised/replaced we need to develop an action plan to rebuild that, so that God can, be the center of our lives.

Time management is interlinked with our future. What we do today, the good and bad habits, determine our destiny. If God is in the center of our lives, no matter what we would never let go of God. We would still love God above all, and most of all we would not compromise our relationship with him.

Our time spent with God on a daily basis is the most important part of life, if anything is placed above that, God is not first in our lives, it is as simple as that. This statement is harsh, but let us be real today. Are we fluffy Christians? Lets do the simple things right. How do we do that? Simply put, let God be the center of our lives.

In Job 27:10 it says, “Will he find delight in the Almighty? Will he call upon God at all times?” (Let’s ask this question to ourselves, will we call upon God at all times)

Psalm 31:15, “My times are in your hands; deliver me from my enemies and from those who pursue me.”

Proverbs 20:4, “A sluggard does not plow in season; so at harvest time he looks but finds nothing.”

Proverbs 24:10, “If you falter in times of trouble, how small is your strength!”
