Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 20 Mar 2008 |

Mark 9:18 Whenever it seizes him, it throws him to the ground. He foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth and becomes rigid. I asked your disciples to drive out the spirit, but they could not." Today’s word of encouragement is about rigidness, and the downfalls of being too rigid. If we are rigid about the small things, imagine what we would be like when we have to handle bigger issues. Being rigid, is being inflexible, unwilling to change, unwilling to adapt. God sometimes throws us off rail to see how we would respond to changes. Take our careers for example, or adversity, a major conflict situation, the list goes on and on. Sometimes in life it is important to be rigid, inflexible, and firm. One thing that we cannot compromise is our relationship with God. God sometimes puts us to the test, we may not like it, it may be the smallest issue, but how we handle that situation will determine how we would respond as we are thrown into the deeper end of the ocean. I hope we realize that how we respond to tests determines how fruitful we will be. The more rigid and inflexible we are, the more limited we will be. In fact we become so ineffective, that God will use someone else to do His will. Today let us seek with all our hearts that God would anoint us with a double portion of wisdom to guide us. We may not know how to handle certain situations we may face, but if we turn to God for advice, that is the best thing we could do. © Mar 2008 Shaun Lee archive: www.shauntzen.blogspot.com |
